A nice article on applying biomimicry principles in the context of IBM’s work on SmarterWater. See: http://www.fastcompany.com/1648801/biomimicry-challenge-smart-design-ecosystem-approach-to-water-conservation-for-ibm

The design sketch towards the end of the article provides three levels of feedback: individual feedback (e.g., shown by ‘pulsing’ the stream of water issuing from the tab for every pint of water used), communal feedback (e.g., a display in the elevator showing an apartment building’s use), and societal feedback (e.g., micro-parks built around fire hydrants whose lushness can be manipulated to reflect the city’s future water status).
