			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Panoptes is a camera technology developed by Marc Christensen at CMU that combines images from many tiny low-resolution sensors to create a high-resolution picture. A central processor combines the smaller images into a single image. The system is capable of identifying areas of interest and concentrating the sub-imagers on important areas &#8212; e.g., when photogarphing a building in a field after a frame or two it can identify that certain areas, like the open field, have nothing of interest, whereas other areas have details that aren&#8217;t sufficiently resolved and can shift subimagers focusing on the field to other parts of the image.
