From a site called thefuntheory.com, the videos illustrate ways of making environmentally conscious but mundane behaviors intrinsically rewarding. My favorite is “The World’s Deepest Trash Bin” (http://tr.im/CTiq), but the “Bottle Bank” (http://tr.im/CTiJ) and “Piano Stairs” (http://tr.im/CTiP) are also nicely done. These appear to be sponsored by Volkswagon, and are part of a contest that runs through November 15, 2009 (see http://www.thefuntheory.com/ to enter). …The big question is whether the behavioral changes shown are long lasting or if they are due to a novelty effect and extinguish over time.
