A forthcoming update to their service (called “Citysense”) identifies “tribes” of people by similarities in their behavior (inferred from their movements as tracked by their GPS-endowed cell phones) and shows the changing locations of the tribes over time (e.g., the course of an evening). Applications include showing where “people like me” spend time, and providing targeted ads.
