OK, last one for a bit. This article describes diagnostic ‘labs-on-a-chip’ made out of paper. One of the barriers to cheap disagnostic chips is microfludics which has to do with the manipulation of tiny quantities of liquid (think small pumps and pipes).

Going to be used to treat Alzheimers, but I sure could use a boost to my memory!

Leading discussions on two papers in a course taught by Joe Konstan and John Riedl at “the U”. The two papers are the CHI ’99 Babble paper, and The Tyranny of Structurelessness. (I’d actually suggested something other than the Babble paper, but that apparently was their default on the reading list, and they forgot to change it in time — it’s interesting to re-read it after nearly 10 years.)
